Blake Usry Biography

Coach Blake Usry will serve as the Defensive Line Coach for the Tattnall County Warriors and is entering his first season with the high school program in 2026. Coach Usry also teaches Physical Science at South Tattnall Middle School.

Originally from Statesboro, Coach Usry played high school football at Portal High School from 2004–2007 under Coach Collins, where he competed on the defensive line. As a senior, he was recognized as the strongest athlete in the program, which helped develop his passion for strength training and physical development for athletes.

Coach Usry completed his degree in Science Education and brings a passion for leadership, discipline, and hard work to both the classroom and the football field. Prior to beginning his career in education, he served nine years in the Army, where he developed the leadership and teamwork skills that he now applies to coaching and teaching.

Coach Usry is married to his wife, Kelly Usry, and together they have five children. He enjoys spending time with his family, working outdoors, and supporting his children in their activities. Coach Usry and his family are proud to be part of the Tattnall County community.
